Special Britney Spears in Glee is the most watched in the UK!

The episode tribute to Britney Spears in Glee was presented on Monday (17) in the UK months after its U.S. debut, and secured a new record audience to the show in the country.

Transmitted by cable channel E4, Glee is now displayed in January 2010, with 1.1 million audience. In the final chapter of the first season, which aired in June 2010, the series has performed more than 1.5 million in audience. The second season premiered on Monday (10) last week, and showed his musical growth reaching 1,614 million in audience.
 
The second episode (Britney / Brittany) of the new season, aired Monday (17), paid tribute to singer Britney Spears and broke the record of the hearing last week, having his best success to date, leading to 1,671 million people watching in particular, twice the audience of second-placed - the soap opera EastEnders for BBC3 with 822,000 viewers. Other 320 thousand people watched the replay on channel E4 +1, which is the same schedule with an hour late. The share of the episode scored 6.4%, the second best score to date for the show.
 
A spokeswoman for Sony Music, Shoshanna Stone, reinforced the record on Tuesday (18) via a message on her Twitter profile: "The tribute to Britney in glee was shown yesterday in the UK and broke the ratings record series there: an average of 1.99 million viewers."

Glee also helped boost sales of the compilation The Singles Collection (buy a CD by R9, 90) in the UK, which reached the position of number seven after viewing the episode and is currently ranked 11th in the top-selling store iTunes. The songs of Britney Spears's voice cast also included among the 100 songs more purchased at the store digital Toxic (18th place), I'm a Slave 4U (49th place), ...Baby One More Time (54th), Me Agaisnt The Music (61th place) and Stronger (76th).
