Performance of "Hold It Against Me" in Oceania
According to RIANZ, the new single from Britney Spears, Hold It Against Me, debuted in first place in the Top 40 Singles of New Zealand - the region where the single was released in the first hand before the official release date, due to confusion the iTunes store.
This is the fourth number one for Spears in the country. Other singles reach the top position were: ...Baby One More Time (1998), Sometimes (1999) and Oop!... I Did It Again (2000).
The success is given mainly to the fact that the song stay several days in first place on iTunes since its debut on Monday (10). Currently the single is the second most sold on iTunes. On the radio, Hold It Against Me has not debuted on the chart.
The RIANZ is a non-profit professional association of producers, distributors and musical artists in New Zealand.
In Australia, the single reaching the top spot of iTunes during its release, Hold It Against Me debuted in tenth place in the Top 50 Singles. Currently the song is the third most sold in the store digital.
The performance of singles and albums in Australia are posted on the site of the ARIA (Australian Record Association with the industry), formed by record labels to manage the releases in the music market in the country.
