Billboard highlights yet another record for "Hold It Against Me"!

As expected after the huge audience on the day of its release, the single Hold It Against Me by Britney Spears already guaranteed a record debut on the Billboard Pop Songs arrest.

The first single from the forthcoming album by the singer enters at #16 with 4,071 plays, which represents the highest number of executions in the first week of the history of arrest (in the last 18 years).

Hold It Against Me also tied with Frozen Madonna's debut as the second largest in the history of the chart in the item position (a song from Madonna also debuted at #16 on March 7, 1998). Only the track Dreamlover Mariah Carey which debuted on a higher position - got to #12 the week of August 14, 1993.

Stopping Pop Songs Billboard lists the 130 most played songs on mainstream radio stations, according to Nielsen BDS. Hold It Against Me was sitting in all these 130 stations in its debut week. The first week of music on the radio had no less than 36.4 million listeners, which is the tenth largest audience of the week format.


The radio station KHOP (95.1) of California was the most played song, with 104 executions in the first week.

"During the last decade, Britney Spears has had its ups and downs. But every time she launches music is like an event to the radio", says program director KHOP, Mojo Roberts.

"We normally expect the audience to react to the music and then play it often. This song, however, is one of those rare tracks, like California Gurls, Katy Perry or  Raise Your Glass, Pink to put that ring soon after the first run. Public reaction to the new single has been nothing short of wonderful. This is another pop hit of Miss Spears, "says Mojo.

The song also simultaneously debut at #24 on the Dance Airplay, #37 on the Rhythmic and #40 on the Adult Pop Songs.


Probably Hold It Against Me will make even more history this weekbecause is expected that it becomes the 18th track to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 , whichhas existed since 1958 . As has been previously reported, the band shall not exceed the mark of 400,000 downloads sold in the first week, according to sources in the music industry.

The highlights of the Hot 100, including who was at #1, will be published on Billboard's website on Wednesday (19). The other charts will be updated on Thursday (20).
