Lady GaGa says no mirrors in Britney!

The last special issue of the defunct Bizz magazine features an interview with singer Lady GaGa, and one of the questions inevitably cites Britney Spears. Here's what she said:

In the past, you wrote for Fergie and Britney Spears. They were examples for you?

"No. I do not usually reflect on contemporary artists. Prefer the old ones. Because when you focus too a singer now, becomes equal to it. We need to find yourself. I've always been fascinated by the idea of reviving a sense of nostalgia. I do not think that is like an artist of the past, but was, rather, influenced by them."

Speaking of artists that are mirrored in others GaGa was surprised recently with a statement from the Jamaican singer Grace Jones, fashion icon who always drew attention for her outrageous outfits and that is one of the inspirations for Lady GaGa.

Grace revealed to Britain's Guardian newspaper did not think Lady Gaga original and she was invited to sing in the band Telephone, but denied the request and was replaced by Beyoncé. "She called me, but I said no. I prefer working with someone more original, and with someone I do not copy whole, indeed", said Grace Jones.
