"Circus Tour" was the fifth biggest tour of 2009

The site specializes in shows Pollstar released its annual ranking of 2009, listing the highest grossing tours in the world. The Circus starring Britney Spears, a tour that helped promote the album Circus in 2009, was fifth with 131 million raised in 98 shows worldwide, according to the site.

Thus the tour got some new titles, as the second largest collection of tour in 2009 by a female artist (she lost to Madonna), the 18th highest grossing tour in history, and the fifth largest collection of history from a female artist.

The biggest tours of the year were U2, AC / DC, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Madonna, respectively (mostly carried out in stages).
