Last month, the women's Allure magazine interviewed the makeup artist and hairstylist Britney on tour, Mark Berardini, to see how he handles the pop princess for the day's shows. Read in full:
What was the inspiration behind the look of Britney?
"I really wanted to play with the idea of femme fatale. When I think of a femme fatale, I think the European actresses like Brigitte Bardot. It is the epitome of a powerful woman. I wanted to bring that strength and sensuality to all the girls on the tour."
Britney changing clothes several times throughout the show. Her makeup also changes?
"No, your makeup was originally thought to be a little more neutral, so that could work at any time of the show."
What about her hair?
"We changed her hair every show. I try to feel the vibe of each city where we are."
So what inspired her hair "gently rolling" her during his time in New York?
"I think New York has brought a bit of Sarah Jessica Parker in all of us. I was sitting on a park bench and watched the girls walking with his wavy hair and I thought, this is so New York. The weather was also very humid, so that no one would try to straighten your hair that day."
