Alice Cooper went to Brazil for the first time in 1974, a time when big shows went hundreds of miles away from there.
In his fourth passage through the country, Cooper, 63, did show yesterday at Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo. In an interview with Folha, he talked about some artists like Britney Spears, Shakira and Lady Gaga.
You are the precursor to artists like Marilyn Manson...
"I call them my children disobedient. When we arise, if you did rock theatrics and the same time, it was not a good musician. Nobody understood. Now, when you go to a concert, you see very showbiz. I went to a Lady Gaga recently. She said, 'Thanks for letting me steal his show [laughs].' I said, 'You did not steal, but I can see where he was influenced by it."
And Britney Spears?
"She does a great show, but Gaga composes his own songs, plays piano, sings, directs ... The two I most admire are gaga and Shakira. She is a girl who fits all. Does choreography, dance, sing, play drums, the whole package."
