Britney wins highlighted in certifications album!

The Recording Industry Association of the United States of America (RIAA) announced the final count of the greatest achievements of awards the last decade. Britney Spears was the female solo artist with the highest number of certifications for albums - 23 in total!

"We've seen a decade of musical milestones and achievements of extraordinary artists as part of our history program Gold and Platinum", said the president of the RIAA, Mitch Bainwol. "The names, songs and albums in our list are the best of the decade and are stored in the DNA of our music. Just as the fans continue accessing and listening to music, the program Gold and Platinum continues and will continue to recognize the greatest commercial and artistic successes. As a community, we still have challenges, but the new decade brings reasons for hope and optimism. The appetite for music is stronger than ever and open mind for innovation is incredible".

The artist with the highest number of certifications in general, however, was Beyoncé. Other prominent names on the list are Nickelback, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Usher, Shania Twain and Lady GaGa.
